The strength of the People’s Party of Canada in the BC Interior depends on dedicated leaders who bring energy, vision, and commitment to our movement. Serving on the Board of Directors is an opportunity to shape the future, build local engagement, and uphold the principles of freedom, responsibility, fairness, and respect.
Below are the key roles and responsibilities for each elected position. Whether you’re considering running or simply want to understand how our leadership works, here’s what each role entails:
President / Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
🔹 Primary Role: Team Leader & Strategic Coordinator
• Acts as the face and facilitator of the association, ensuring smooth operations and strong alignment with PPC’s principles.
• Chairs board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) using Robert’s Rules of Order.
• Delegates responsibilities to board members and oversees the execution of strategic goals.
• Ensures compliance with Elections Canada and financial regulations, working closely with the Financial Agent (CFO).
• Communicates with PPC National Headquarters and represents the association regionally and nationally.
• Supports local events and riding teams to strengthen grassroots efforts.
• Votes only in the event of a tie to remain an impartial leader.
• Ensures members stay informed and engaged through meetings and outreach.
The President is a key figure in keeping the association running smoothly and in alignment with the PPC’s vision.
Vice President (VP) – Optional Role
🔹 Primary Role: Deputy & Operational Support
• Steps in for the President when needed, ensuring continuity in leadership.
• Assists in the execution of board initiatives, making sure key projects stay on track.
• Supports riding teams in organizing events, campaigns, and volunteer efforts.
• Leads committees or specific projects as assigned by the board.
• Helps strengthen communication between the association and national PPC leadership.
The VP role provides additional leadership and ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
Financial Agent (CFO)
🔹 Primary Role: Financial Oversight & Compliance
• Manages the association’s budget, donations, and financial reporting to Elections Canada and CRA.
• Ensures all contributions follow legal regulations and issues tax receipts as needed.
• Works with the board to allocate funds effectively for campaigns and operations.
• Prepares financial reports and organizes audits when required.
The CFO plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity and transparency.
Secretary
🔹 Primary Role: Administration & Record-Keeping
• Prepares agendas and minutes for all meetings.
• Keeps official records of board decisions and actions.
• Maintains an up-to-date membership list and assists in outreach efforts.
• Drafts and distributes official communications for the board.
The Secretary ensures that all board activities are well-documented and organized.
Riding Director(s)
🔹 Primary Role: Local Organizer & Community Representative
• Acts as the voice of local members, ensuring their concerns are heard at the board level.
• Supports candidate recruitment and campaign readiness.
• Mobilizes volunteers for canvassing, events, and outreach.
• Represents the PPC to local media, community leaders, and stakeholders.
• Leads fundraising and membership growth efforts in the riding.
Riding Directors are the boots on the ground, ensuring our message reaches voters effectively.

All it takes is a desire to make the RDA a true People’s Party of Canada association.
